Centennial Technologies is Hiring a Business Analyst Near Leesburg, VA

Centennial Technologies Inc. (Centennial) is looking for a Business Analyst with at least two (2) years of experience to join our delivery team and support a major federal agency. It is preferred for the candidate to have experience in implementing acquisition management systems, including working side by side with software engineers, product managers, designers, and clients, making decisions together to assist the team in quickly breaking down features into user stories through progressive elaboration, as well as track and report on operational needs. The candidate must be willing to ask questions, dig deep to identify and solve problems experienced by the team and the customer, focus on continuous improvement, and make thoughtful suggestions for areas of process enhancement. In addition, the business analyst must have a passion for maintaining secure, high-quality, reliable, and available software solutions and be a proactive, fast learner.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct requirements analysis, including requirement elicitation, analysis, and recording in various forms, including user stories and use cases.
  • Create and maintain documentation and standards.
  • Analyze existing needs, prepare, present results, and collaborate with business and development teams to implement high-value features and solutions.
  • Apply expertise in business analysis and requirements gathering to make an impact on corporate projects
  • Assist in driving the development and improvement of business processes within the organization
  • Build relationships with business partners and development teams and provides functional leadership and business user perspective to development team members
  • Perform all activities in Agile software development environments, including planning sprints, prioritizing development, and managing Jira boards and backlogs
  • Ability to breakdown requirements into user stories
  • Ability to plan, create and manage sprints and backlogs
  • Must be able to bring tact and diplomacy to challenging situations

Requirements:

  • At least two (2) years of experience supporting IT projects (preferably within the federal sector)
  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science/systems, information systems/technology, engineering/engineering technology, software engineering/programming, management, natural sciences, social sciences, mathematics or business/finance. OR a Master’s Degree (in subjects described above) from an accredited university
  • Ability to pass and maintain a Tier 4 High Risk (6C) background investigation
  • Must be a US Citizen

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Certified Scrum Master certification
  • Project Management Professional certification
  • Experience with Agile management software such as Jira
  • Experience implementing COTS/SaaS/Low-code No-code products
